Rare WWII TAIFUN Nr444 Aluminum Petrol Lighter from Austria in Outstanding Condition.
Case is Made of Non magnetic Metal, I'm assuming is Aluminum or an alloy, it does hold a shine and features a subtle patina.
TAIFUN lighters were vintage petrol wick lighters, made in Austria, during the 1920s and 1930s, known for their Art Deco style, often featuring Bakelite or sterling silver in their construction, and connected to Austrian chemical company TCW (Treibacher Chemische Werke AG) which produced the essential cerium-iron flints (firestones). These semi-automatic lighters, sometimes called storm lighters, used a friction wheel and were popular for their compact, stylish design before the rise of brands like Zippo.
Smooth texture along the outside edges and rippled texture in the middle.
Takes regular Zippo style Flint and Petrol (Liquid) fuel.
Flint tube is clean and a new Flint has been installed.
Sparks and lights consistently.
