You would be hard pressed to find A smooth Punto Oro with a Sterling silver mount from that era in Near Mint Smoked Condition.

Italian shape chart standard designs typically take classic English and French forms and alter the proportions slightly for a more dramatic presentation. That's especially true of Savinelli's "207" Apple — still arrow straight and plump of bowl but comparatively more slender through the shank and stem, the relationship accentuates the bowl's muscularity. It's made all the more striking by a generous band of sterling silver, separating the ebonite stem from the Punto Oro's auburn stain.
